Sandy Nelson has announced her intention to retire at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. A committee has been formed to call an individual who is a rostered Synod worker (or eligible to become a member of the Synod) to fill the vacancy created by Sandy. Call Committee members are: George Ledgerwood, Toni Kreis, Linda Cammack, Karl Schoettlin, DeeAnn Fugett, Tamala Smocks, Kris Alsin, Nancy Jankowski, and Pastor Penikis. The committee met with Jim Bradshaw, the District Education Executive, on November 17 to discuss the rubrics governing the call process. The committee will next meet on November 30 to formulate the job description, prepare interview questions, and discuss next steps in seeking qualified candidates. We ask that your keep the call committee in your prayers as we start the process of finding our next 8th grade teacher.
The committee met on November 30 and formed the criteria that will be used to search for teacher candidates. The teacher candidate being sought will have a minimum of 5 years middle school experience, highly qualified (or willing and able to become highly qualified) in the subjects of Language Arts and Social Studies, teach grades 5-8 in Language Arts and Social Studies, and be the 8th grade home room teacher. The congregation is invited to submit candidate names until Monday December 21. Nominations may be completed on the teacher candidate form available in the narthex; or online using the candidate form. Submit completed forms to the church office. After December 21, all nominations received will be verified by Jim Bradshaw for eligibility. Interviews are expected to begin approximately mid-January. Please keep the call committee in your prayers during the process to find our next 8th grade teacher.
