As a Christian school, we are ever-mindful of the needs of others. This year we are holding a Serve-A-thon as our Spring fundraiser to enable us to put our faith into action as we reach out to help the Johnson County community. Our students will be modeling one of the ways that we live out our faith: by serving others. Hopefully they will see that they can be a blessing to others by being the hands and feet of Christ.
The entire school will contribute their time during the week of April 16th – 20th by completing projects or serving at different charities or hospitals in our city.
As part of the Serve-A-Thon, students will be raising funds for Hope Lutheran School. Our goal for this first-time event is $20,000. That equates to each student raising a minimum of $200. YES! Only $200. Funds will be used for the ever-changing technology needs of our school and preschool.
Prior to the Serve-A-Thon, students will collect pledges. Parents are encouraged to share the website with friends, family, and co-workers both near and far for online donations. You are also urged to seek corporate donations from employers or local businesses. There will be incentives for the classes with the highest average of pledges. (Parents of K-8 may also be asked to help transport students to and from the project site.)
Please watch for the materials going home in your child’s Friday packet. They will explain the details and include website logins for each student.
WE NEED EVERYONE’S HELP TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESSFUL SERVICE PROJECT AND FUNDRAISER.
Thank you in advance for your support of our Serve-A-Thon!
