Chapel:\u00a0<\/strong> Pastor Jacob started our Chapel today telling us about his days as a track coach, and\u00a0 he asked us to guess what warm-up exercise he was thinking of having us do. \u00a0 Of course only one person guessed the right exercise because, as he pointed out, he had not shown us how to do it.\u00a0 Pastor read John:13:31-35 and explained that Jesus gave us a mission – a new commandment, \u201c that you love one another:\u00a0 just as I have loved you, you are also to love one another.\u201d\u00a0 Jesus lived his life to show exactly how to love others in what we say and do and how we are to live, not for ourselves, but to use our gifts, talents, and treasures to love and serve God\u2019s people.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Verse to Remember: <\/strong> \u201cGo therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always to the end of the age.\u201d<\/em> – Matthew 28: 20<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Fine Arts Night: <\/strong>Students in grades 3-7 should wear black pants\/skirts with white tops. Students need to meet in their classrooms at 5:45 pm<\/em><\/strong>. After the performance, parents will pick up their students in their classrooms. A cookie reception will follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Field Day (Monday)<\/strong>: Students should wear their PE shirt and PE shorts for the day. Lunch will be hot dogs, chips, popsicles, and fruit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Picnic Day (Tuesday): <\/strong>Students will wear a Hope T-shirt and appropriate-length shorts. Students will bring their own sack lunches, and will need the permission slip signed by the parent to walk to the park. Students will have an opportunity to sign yearbooks at 2:00 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Closing Day (Wednesday): <\/strong>Students will wear the school uniform. Chapel begins at 8:40 am. We will celebrate June and July birthdays, present awards, and close our school year. Students will bid our 8th graders farewell.
