We had a great day on Monday, celebrating Dr. Suess’s birthday and Read Across America<\/em>. We saw Thing One and Thing Two, went on a scavenger hunt, did multiplication color math, and read silently with our stuffies for 45 minutes! Our Multiplication Ice Cream Challenge ends tomorrow, Friday, March 6th! We hope to enjoy our real <\/em>ice cream sundaes soon! Thank you for working with your child on memorizing Memory Work, the Multiplication Tables, and now States & Capitals!\u00a0This week 4th graders will be encouraged to wear our class color (shirt)- PURPLE, for one day during NLSW, Tuesday, March 10th! Thank you, in advance, for participating!<\/em><\/mark><\/strong> We are looking forward to everything <\/em>about this week! Each day will be packed with fun activities and special guests! Please be sure to bring your 4th grader to sing in church this Sunday at 8:00 AM to help our school kick off National Lutheran Schools Week! Also- don’t forget to turn your clock forward 1 hour before you go to bed Saturday night! <\/strong><\/em><\/mark>We will see you bright and early<\/em> the next morning! We especially look forward to Grandparents’ Day on Friday, and of course, Early Dismissal and the beginning of Spring Break! If your child’s grandparent(s) are unable to attend, there are plenty of grandparents and volunteer grandparents to go around!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redo\/Corrections Policy reminder<\/mark> <\/strong>\u2013 Assignments that receive less than 75% are eligible for a redo. Assignments will go home each week in the Thursday envelope.  Corrections must be turned in by the following week to receive any additional points.  Quizzes and tests are not included as redo assignments.<\/em> *Each redo assignment needs to be completed on a separate piece of paper and stapled to the original assignment. <\/strong> The first page should be the redo assignment, with the assignment heading, the date, and the student\u2019s name.  Students will only need to complete\/redo the questions that were missed, not the whole assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Join us for church at Hope Lutheran Church at 8 am or 10:30 am services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*3rd – 8th Grade will sing @ 8:00 am service,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          <\/em><\/strong>  *Kinder<\/em> – 2nd Grade will sing @ 10:30 am,  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

 *A Band will play during Sunday School hour at 9:00 am.               <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please join us for fellowship & coffee hour starting at 9:00 AM.  School parents are sponsoring treats in Concord Hall.  The BOOK FAIR will also be open from 9:00 am – 10:15 am that morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memorizing States and Capitals<\/mark><\/strong>
We are working on learning the Southeast States and Capitals.  Look for a map worksheet to be coming home in the binders for studying.
Memorizing Multiplication Tables<\/mark>
<\/strong>Students are working at their own pace and not in competition with classmates. Each student will build an actual ice cream sundae to match the poster he\/she has built by earning each piece after scoring 100%. Some students may be running out of time and may not be able to meet the deadline for the Ice Cream Challenge, which is Friday, March 6th. Even after the Ice Cream Challenge is complete, students will be required to continue the testing until each table has been mastered with a score of 100%. These math facts are essential to going on to 5th grade math instruction. Thank you for helping your child meet this challenge and feel successful and prepared!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No New Spelling List or Memory will be due for March 9th – 13th<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
