<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe Vierthaler’s, master gardeners that have helped us with our project, explained why we might not have butterflies and told us we might want more pollinator plants around the school . One of the plants they recommended was the Seven-Son Tree. It will be a really easy plant and fun to take care of. The Seven-Son Tree grows to be 15 to 25 feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year we had a lack of monarchs in our garden; all of the monarchs we have raised so far have been from a teacher\u2019s home garden.Unfortunately, we didn’t have very much milkweed when we were raising caterpillars; we think that\u2019s why we didn\u2019t have very many monarchs this year. Our goal of buying a seven-son tree will help attract more monarchs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seven-son trees are actually shrub sized. When they are mature they grow from six to ten feet tall. They bloom summer through fall. Seven-son blooms also attract other pollinators like bees and hummingbirds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
