In language we are working on words ending with the sound &#8220;ang&#8221;, &#8220;ing&#8221;, &#8220;ong&#8221;, and &#8220;ung&#8221;. We are beginning a new unit on place value in math and are reviewing tens and ones. In science we are learning how we combine materials to build new things. In religion we are learning about Moses striking the rock and the fall of Jericho. In handwriting we are writing the letters &#8220;b&#8221;, &#8220;p&#8221;, &#8220;r&#8221;, and &#8220;n&#8221;. During social studies we are learning about state and local governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Schedule<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October 24 Trunk or Treat 5:30-7pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>October 30 STUCO Nonuniform day<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>November 8 PAHS Auction<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Tissues<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our classroom supply of tissues is getting low. If you are able, please consider donating a box of tissues to help keep our classroom healthy. Anything is appreciated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Report Cards<br><\/span>Report cards will go home in Thursday folders this week. Please return the white envelope to school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Reading Logs<br><\/span>2nd graders will track their nightly reading assignments using a reading log. You must sign the reading log and record the name of the book your child read so your student can get credit for reading. Nightly reading helps students maintain and improve fluency and provides them with an opportunity to independently use the reading strategies they are learning in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Planners<br><\/span>Please continue to check your child\u2019s planner. It needs to be returned to school each day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Trunk or Treat<br><\/span>Hope is hosting a trunk or treat on Friday, October 24th from 5:30-7 pm. You are invited to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">STUCO Non-Uniform Day<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Student Council is hosting a non-uniform day on October 30th. Cost is $2 for non-uniform and $1 to wear a hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Reformation Day<br><\/span>We will celebrate Reformation Day at the end of the month on October 31st. Please note that costumes are not permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">PAHS Auction<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Parents&#8217; Auction for Hope School will take place on Saturday, November 8th. Please consider attending to support our school programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Cold Weather<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Weather conditions continue to change and get colder. Please ensure your child brings a jacket to school to prepare for the day&#8217;s weather conditions.
