Week at a Glance
<\/span>This week in handwriting we are practicing letters “m” and “h”. In religion we are learning about the Reformation and Martin Luther. In math we are finishing our unit on place value. In reading we are working on informational text. During language we are working on silent letters such as “kn” and “gn”. We are finishing our unit on matter in science. This week in social studies we are learning about citizenship.

November 13 – Picture Retakes 10am-12pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 19 – Spelling Bee<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 24 – Teacher In-Service Day, NO SCHOOL<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November 25 – 28\u00a0 –\u00a0 Thanksgiving Break\u00a0 NO SCHOOL<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operation Christmas Child Boxes<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boxes for Operation Christmas Child are available in the school lobby. This is an opportunity for us to share our blessings with others during Christmas. You are welcome to take a box and fill it. All items must be new. Boxes should be returned by November 16th.
All Pro Dads
<\/span>The November meeting for All Pro Dads will be on November 7th beginning at 7:30 am. Dads are encouraged to join their child at school for breakfast and a message before the school day begins.
Picture Retakes
<\/span>Picture retakes will be held on Thursday, November 13th from 10am-12pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading Logs
<\/span>2nd graders will track their nightly reading assignments using a reading log. You must sign the reading log and record the name of the book your child read so your student can get credit for reading. Nightly reading helps students maintain and improve fluency and provides them with an opportunity to independently use the reading strategies they are learning in school.
Reformation Day
<\/span>We will celebrate Reformation Day at the end of the month on October 31st. Please note that costumes are not permitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PAHS Auction<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Parents\u2019 Auction for Hope School will take place on Saturday, November 8th. Please consider attending to support our school programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cold Weather<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather conditions continue to change and get colder. Please ensure your child brings a jacket to school to prepare for the day\u2019s weather conditions. Per Hope\u2019s recess policy, students must have an extra layer when the temperature is below 50 degrees.
Veterans’ Day
<\/span>Hope will recognize our veterans on November 11th in the morning with a presentation. This event is for veterans only.
Thanksgiving Break<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope will not have school from November 25-28 due to Thanksgiving. We pray you have a blessed Thanksgiving break!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
