Newsletter – November 30th

November 29, 2023

Welcome to the 8th Grade Homeroom newsletter!

This month, pray that your child will always have eyes to see the best in people, a heart that forgives the worst, a mind that forgets the bad, and a soul that never loses faith in God.

Our school theme is “Connected” with our verse of “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.“–John 15:1-5.
Chapel offerings will go to Christmas Families for 2nd quarter. Please encourage your child to bring offering each week. It is a good way for them to remember the blessings they have and to share those blessings with others. “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” Proverbs 14:31.

Christmas families – This will mark our 30th year of offering the love of Christ through the outpouring of food and clothing to those less fortunate during the Christmas season.   With your generosity, we have successfully given for many years to those in need.   We are asking for you to consider joining us in making it another successful season for four families that we at Hope Lutheran School have adopted during this season of Christmas.

Donations for Stony Point Elementary – The 7th/8th-grade students have the opportunity to provide a Christmas celebration for physically and developmentally disabled students attending Stony Point North Elementary School in KCK. Many of these students are in foster care and for many of them, these gifts will be their entire Christmas.  Money can be dropped off in the school office. To date, we have only raised $300, but we need to raise at least $1600 for the children of Stony Point. The 7th/8th graders thank you in advance for your support. The collection deadline is Tuesday, December 8th.
