“But when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in-
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin;
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art! How great Thou art!”

Our school theme is “Connected” with our verse of “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.“–John 15:1-5.
Chapel offerings for 4th quarter will go to the Guatemala Mission Trip. Please encourage your child to bring offering each week. It is a good way for them to remember the blessings they have and to share those blessings with others. “Whoever oppresses a poor man insults his Maker, but he who is generous to the needy honors him.” Proverbs 14:31.

Graduation Gowns – Please have gowns pressed and returned by Thursday, April 25th.

Read-a-thon – Our Read-a-thon is well underway!  Our class is raising money to purchase a new laptop for Mrs. Burgoon, one of our preschool teachers.  So far, our class has raised $790 of our $2200 goal, and we have read almost 1800 minutes as a class.  Please share your child’s account information with friends and family so they can support our reading efforts.
Track our class’s progress using this link: Mrs. Eckhoff’s Class Page

Movie Night – Student Council is hosting an outdoor movie night on Friday, April 12th in the school parking lot.  They will be showing the movie “Migration” starting at 8:30 pm.  It is a free event, you just need to bring your lawn chairs!

KAP Testing – Students will be taking the annual KAP test over Language Arts, Math, and Science soon.  This is an important test used to measure your child’s growth each year.  In an effort to have students take the test seriously and do their best, the middle school team is offering extra credit to students who improve their scores from last year.  You can help your student by encouraging them to put away electronic devices, get a good night’s sleep, and have them eat a filling breakfast before school.
KAP testing schedule:
Monday, April 15 – Language Arts
Wednesday, April 17 – Math
Friday, April 19 – Science
Monday, April 22 – Language Arts
Wednesday, April 24 – Math

Faith In Action – On Tuesday, April 16th, students in grades 4-8 will be going to Harvesters to help pack boxes of food as a servant event.  We will be taking buses to Harvesters.  Students should wear a Hope spirit hoodie, jeans (no shorts or sweatpants), and tennis shoes.  We will eat lunch in our classrooms when we return, so students will need to bring a sack lunch.

Spring Play – The spring play is called The Pony Expresso and will be performed on April 18th at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. There will be a dinner in between the two performances.

Donuts with Dad – Bring your dad, grandpa, or uncle to Donuts with Dad on Friday, April 19th from 7:45 to 8:25 am. Come enjoy fellowship with other dads.

Olympic Day – Money for the lunch should be brought to school by Monday, April 22nd.

Washington DC TripNEW DATE!  We will have a parent meeting about the Washington DC Trip on Thursday, April 25th at 5:30 pm in the Science Room. Please add this date to your calendars as we will share information about trip expectations, transportation, itinerary, and “housekeeping” items. We have paperwork that needs to be completed at this meeting, so please plan to attend.
