We’re excited to begin a new unit in Math! In this unit, we’ll focus on recognizing and understanding the numbers 0 through 5. Some helpful vocabulary words to review and talk about at home include: as many as, equal groups, fewest, most, count, zero, one, two, three, four, and five.
In Language Arts, we’ve started learning about vowels and their short sounds. We’re practicing how to identify both objects and words that include short vowel sounds.
In Handwriting, we’re working on horizontal lines and curved/circular lines, we are learning how to identify, trace, and draw them correctly.
We’ve also started our Social Studies unit! Our class discussions will be focused on communities, families, pastors/church, and firemen.
Fall Carnival – September 6
Our Fall Carnival is just around the corner! Join us for an afternoon of fun featuring games, a bouncy house, basketball, face painting, a balloon artist, and so much more!
We’d love your help! If you’re able, please consider signing up to assist with our class game (Fish Bowl Toss) and support our wonderful class moms. Your involvement makes a big difference!
At-Home Practice
I’ll be sending home some worksheets this week. These are a great way for students to practice writing their names and continue building handwriting skills at home.
