Dear Families,
I hope you’re all having a blessed and wonderful week!
There aren’t too many new updates this week, but I wanted to share a few highlights and reminders to keep you in the loop.
iN THE cLASS
Math:
We are continuing with Chapter 3 in math, where we are focusing on the concepts of greater than, less than, before, after, order, and the numbers 0–5.
Sight Words:
I’ve started introducing sight words during our calendar time. Next week, I’ll be sending home a list of sight words in your child’s pink folder. I’ll go over how to best use the sheet when we meet at parent teacher conferences.
Reading Readiness:
You’ll also find a sheet in your child’s pink folder that includes blends and digraphs. These are important tools as we move closer to reading instruction.
Handwriting:
We continue to make steady progress with handwriting as we practice forming our letters. The students are doing well and showing improvement each day!
Reminders
- Permission Slips & Driving Volunteers:
Please remember to return signed permission slips and consider signing up to drive for upcoming events, your support is greatly appreciated! - Important Dates:

Community Service Hours
Some of you have asked for clarification on community service hours, and I’ve been able to gather some helpful information:
- Each family is asked to complete 40 service hours. These hours may be completed by parents, grandparents, students, or siblings, and can be divided in whatever way works best for your family.
- If you’re unable to donate time, purchasing items for the classroom also counts; 1 item = 1 hour of service.
