Hi everyone,
I pray you all had a blessed, peaceful, and joy-filled Thanksgiving. As we return to school, the class is settling back into our routines and working hard, especially as we prepare for our upcoming December performances. I am proud of their excitement, growth, and dedication!
Math
We have begun exploring 3D shapes, and the students are doing a wonderful job building their understanding. We have been identifying and discussing the cube, rectangular prism, cone, sphere, and cylinder, and they are showing great progress recognizing these shapes in everyday life.
Handwriting
We are continuing to focus on proper letter formation. Soon, we will begin writing short words and sentences, applying the skills we have practiced over the past few months.
Social Studies
Our class is continuing to learn about U.S. history and explore several other countries around the world. In the coming weeks, we will begin studying important American figures, such as presidents, inventors, and engineers, and learning how they helped shape our nation.
Science
We are learning about movement, how and why objects move, and how motion affects the world around us. The students have enjoyed exploring these concepts through hands-on activities and discussions.
Reading
We remain focused on early reading skills through short stories, practicing letter sounds, reviewing blends, and learning more about punctuation. The class is growing more confident each week!
A Heartfelt Thank You
Thank you so much to everyone who has purchased items for our classroom. Your generosity is such a blessing, and the students and I are extremely grateful for your support. We truly appreciate you pouring into our classroom community.

Hope Lutheran Church is a great support to our school, and this Sunday, we give thanks for that support. We would like to see as many students attend church as possible.

Please send chapel offerings every Wednesday. During the second quarter, all offerings go toward supporting our Christmas Families.
So far, we have collected $234.30—thank you for blessing others through your generosity!
Weather Reminder
As temperatures continue to drop, please ensure your child brings a jacket each day. Per Hope’s recess policy, students must wear a jacket (not a sweatshirt) when it is below 50 degrees.
Please label all outerwear with your child’s name.
Volunteer Opportunity
The Milt Brueggemann Hope Classic Basketball Tournament (Dec. 5–7) is approaching, and volunteers are needed. This is a great way to earn volunteer hours and connect with our school community. Thank you in advance for supporting this important event!
