Hi all!
I hope everyone\u2019s week is going well!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
First, I want to give a big thank you to all the parents who volunteered to drive and chaperone for our field trip this week. We truly couldn\u2019t make these experiences happen without you generously giving your time to help supervise and support our students. Your help means so much, thank you again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since it\u2019s a new month, I\u2019ve moved around student seating. Now that I\u2019ve gotten to know the class and have a better sense of who works well together, I plan to switch seats at the beginning of each month (unless I happen to find the perfect seating chart!). This gives students the chance to meet new friends and work with different people, while still keeping some consistency so it\u2019s not too overwhelming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This week, we\u2019re finishing up Chapter 3 in Math. Our next unit will focus on numbers 6\u201310, and I\u2019ll send out the new vocabulary words next week. During calendar time, we\u2019ve been practicing counting to 100 by ones, and I\u2019m seeing so much growth! The class is doing an amazing job, their motivation and confidence are growing every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the mornings, we\u2019ve been focusing on the sight word \u201c<\/strong>my.\u201d Next week, we\u2019ll begin working on a new one. In Handwriting, we\u2019ve been reviewing letters from before break, doing one simple worksheet each day to practice both uppercase and lowercase. I\u2019m noticing real improvements in handwriting, which makes my teacher heart so happy! While we still have more progress to make, I\u2019m so proud of how far everyone has come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We\u2019re also starting a new Geography unit in Social Studies, where we\u2019ll learn about the United States and directions, North, East, South, and West. We\u2019ll touch on other countries, too, just not as in-depth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In Religion, we\u2019re continuing to learn about Moses. This week, we\u2019ve been talking about how the Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years, how God provided for them during that time, and the importance of the Tabernacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n October 17<\/strong> \u2013 Early Dismissal at 12:00 p.m. (End of 1st Quarter) October 24<\/strong> \u2013 Trunk or Treat<\/em> from 5:30\u20137:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thank you all for your continued support, it truly means so much.
