Hi all,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope you\u2019re having a wonderful week and staying healthy during this time of year! I want to start by sharing some great news, our class has had two wonderful weeks in a row. The students have been working incredibly hard, and I\u2019m seeing such positive changes in their attitudes and behavior. Because of their great effort, we\u2019ve been able to complete all our work and even enjoy extra activities like coloring, crafts, singing, and more. I am truly proud of this class and all they are accomplishing both individually and together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is not too much new to report, as we are continuing in the same chapters and units as last week. Here\u2019s a quick overview of what we\u2019ve been working on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After Thanksgiving Break, we will begin a new unit focused on 3-dimensional shapes. This can be a challenging topic, but I have lots of manipulatives and hands-on activities planned to make it both engaging and memorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The class is rocking<\/em> their sight words! We practice them every day, and the work you\u2019re doing at home is making a big difference. I\u2019ve been writing sentences using our sight words, and many students can now read them independently, this brings so much joy to my teacher heart.
We are also continuing our work with blends, letter sounds, and short stories, and I\u2019m seeing great progress. Amazing job, parents and students, reading is truly a team effort!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Handwriting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are continuing to focus on 2\u20133 letters each week. Students are doing well, and I am consistently helping correct backwards letters or numbers while modeling proper formation on the board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Religion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This week we took a break from the workbook to practice our Christmas Program songs and learn about the Christmas story and the birth of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Social Studies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are exploring different places around the world. This week we learned about Hawaii and the Virgin Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Science<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are continuing our unit on movement and discussing how and why things move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
