title_font_size_tablet=&#8221;20px&#8221; title_font_size_phone=&#8221;16px&#8221; title_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Third graders are expected to spend time each evening reading, reviewing memory work and spelling words.\u00a0 Written homework assignments should be completed on the day given and to be turned in by the next day, unless noted otherwise.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each student will have an assignment book and\u00a0 homework folder that should be brought back and forth daily.\u00a0 The folder will have one side labeled &#8220;Homework&#8221; and the other side labeled &#8220;Finished&#8221;.\u00a0 All work to turn in will be placed in the folder to bring home.\u00a0 &#8220;Finished&#8221; work will be handed in when students arrive the following morning.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If students do not turn in their homework they will reciece a &#8220;missing&#8221; grade in the gradebook and 5% will be taken off each day until the assignment has been turned in.\u00a0 If a student has more than 3 missing assignments out at one time, they will attend mandatory study hall.\u00a0 An email will be sent to the parents\/guardians notifying which study hall to attend.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Redo \/ Corrections&#8221; title_font_size_tablet=&#8221;20px&#8221; title_font_size_phone=&#8221;16px&#8221; title_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span>Assignments that receive less than a 75% are eligible for a redo.<br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Assignments will go home each week in the Thursday envelope.\u00a0 Corrections must be turned in by the following week to recieve any additional points.\u00a0 Quizzes and tests are not included as redo assignments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Each redo assignment needs to be completed on a separate piece of paper and stapled to the original\u00a0 assignment.\u00a0 The first page should be the redo assignment with the heading of the assignment that was redone, along with the date and name of the student.\u00a0 Student\u2019s will only need to complete\/redo the questions that were missed, not the whole assignment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If a question arises about a redo assignment, please contact me via email.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Missing Assignment Policy&#8221; title_font_size_tablet=&#8221;20px&#8221; title_font_size_phone=&#8221;16px&#8221; title_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|desktop&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>A <em>\u201cmissing\u201d<\/em> assignment is any assignment (homework, in-class work, or project) that has not been turned in when asked for by the teacher on the due date.\u00a0 Missing assignments do not include missing work from a student who had an excused absence, as they receive 2 extra days per day they were absent in order to complete work they missed.<\/p>\n<p>All missing assignments will receive a 5% deduction for each day it is missing, with a maximum late work deduction of 50%. Keep in mind that RenWeb treats assignments entered as missing as a zero, so they drastically hurt the student\u2019s overall grade.<\/p>\n<p>Parents will be contacted by RenWeb when their child receives an \u201cM\u201d. Students will also receive a print out of any missing assignments listed from RenWeb on Thursdays, to go home in their envelopes.<\/p>\n<p>If a student accrues multiple missing assignments from all their classes collectively, he\/she will be removed from specials and\/or may be asked to stay for mandatory study hall until the work is completed and turned in. The importance of students completing their assignments at Hope is a priority over other extracurricular activities, both athletic as well as non-athletic. For absences longer than one week, the time allowed will be one week plus the number of days absent. Students are expected to fulfill long-term assignments as originally scheduled. Planned absence work will be expected to be turned in when returning to school. If the following conditions exist, the students will not be taken out except to get a few minutes of fresh air.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The temperature is 15 degrees F. (-13 C) or below. The wind chill index is 0 (-18 C) or below.
