Parent\/Teacher Conferences \u2013 <\/strong> I am looking forward to meeting with you at conferences this week. We are meeting so that we can work as a team to see how we can best help your student succeed this year. Conference time slots are scheduled every 30 minutes but will be about 15-20 minutes long. If you have back-to-back conferences in another classroom beforehand, we may be able to begin early rather than having you wait. If my door is open, I am available. Also, we are asking that you take a quick survey while you are here before or after your conference. We will have a QR code for your phone or a Chromebook available for the survey. We need these surveys for our accreditation and we use them to help improve our school. Thank you for taking the time to fill it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early Dismissal<\/strong>  \u2013  Due to our conferences, we have an early dismissal at 11:40 today and no classes tomorrow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Funeral services for Mrs. Maresko<\/strong> will be this Friday at Hope at 11:00. Mrs. Maresko has been a blessing to our school, serving as our school counselor for the last 5 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Field Trip \u2013 <\/strong> Please take note of the permission slip for Science City in today’s envelope to sign and return!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math<\/strong> \u2013  We take our Chapter 2 test on Monday. It covers \u201cAddition within 1000\u201d. Next, we will begin working on Chapter 3 which is \u201cSubtraction within 1000\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reading<\/strong> \u2013  We are finishing the last story in our first unit next week.  The theme was \u201cEnvironments\u201d. We have been working with traditional tales (including folk tales and legends), realistic fiction, informational text, and poetry. Our next unit theme is \u201cInteractions\u201d. We will be focusing mainly on informational text, but will also look at persuasive text and realistic fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chapel<\/strong> The third grade presented chapel to K – 2 grades this week. It focussed on forgiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of Hope Lutheran School\u2019s values is teaching children God\u2019s command to help others, and we should always return with gladness the blessings God has given us.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the many ways we follow this command is through our chapel offerings.  Each week we collect an offering at our chapel service.  A mission is selected quarterly, and a goal is set. For our first quarter chapel offerings will be going towards LEADaChild; LeadaChild is an independent Lutheran Mission Agency, dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus\u2019 love to children through Christian education in third-world countries. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our new playground <\/strong>is ready to be installed, but we need help moving the pieces. Can you help?  Here are the dates and times we need HELP!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
