Book Reports<\/strong> \u2013 The class is doing a great job with their book reports. We are enjoying telling and hearing about the books that were read!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas Program <\/strong>\u2013 1st through 4th grade will have our Christmas program, Angel\u2019s Aware, on Thursday, December 14th at 6:30 pm. Students are to wear a white top, and white pants\/skirt, and girls are to wear white leggings. If you do not have white pants or a skirt, please wear khaki. Students are to arrive in the classroom at 6:15. Parents will pick up their students from the classroom after the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dinner Before Christmas Program\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 The 8th grade will serve spaghetti dinner with\u00a0dessert before\u00a0the\u00a0Christmas\u00a0programs\u00a0on December 14th and 19th. \u00a0We\u00a0will begin\u00a0at 5:00 pm\u00a0so everyone can get their children to the classrooms on time.\u00a0 Bring your entire family and relax with your HLS family as you prepare to celebrate our Savior\u2019s birth at\u00a0the\u00a0Christmas\u00a0program.\u00a0 A free-will offering will be accepted. All proceeds will go toward the 2024 Washington, D.C. trip. \u00a0More details about the menu will come home in Thursday folders.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will have special dress-up days for the week of\u00a0December 18th – 20th<\/strong>

Next week<\/strong> \u2013 We will not have any spelling words or memory work for next week. We will be focused on Christmas activities and projects as well as finishing up book report presentations. The class had earned a movie and popcorn with behavior points, so we will watch a Christmas movie next Tuesday afternoon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hot Chocolate Sale<\/strong> \u2013 Student Council will be selling Hot Chocolate on Tuesday, December 19th, from 7:45 am – 8:25 am.\u00a0 The students can buy regular hot chocolate for $1.00 or supreme hot chocolate for $3.00, including hot chocolate, marshmallows, and a candy cane.\u00a0 What a great way to start a cold morning!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas Party<\/strong> \u2013 Our party\u00a0will be on Wednesday, Dec 20. We will be doing something a little different for our class gift exchange in class this year. Instead of drawing names\u00a0(since we have had so many days in a row with kids absent)<\/em>, I am asking that each student bring in a pair of crazy, fun socks, wrapped as a gift. (They can be Christmas socks if you want, but they can be any fun socks to wear on Fridays!) We will be exchanging them in a fun activity at our party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am including information for the week after Christmas break since next week will be a short week<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I encourage all of the kids to work on their multiplication facts over break. Do keep on reading. You can keep track of minutes read in the calendar section of the assignment book.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
