Parent\/Teacher Conferences<\/strong> \u2013  3rd-grade dismisses at 11:40 on Thursday, January 18. Conferences will begin that afternoon and continue on Friday. Thank you to those who have already chosen their time by using this link. Conference Sign-Up Link<\/a> If you are not able to meet during the times I have available, please let me know as soon as possible so we can schedule a conference. These are mandatory conferences in which report cards will be shared with you. I feel very blessed to be able to share in your child\u2019s learning and growth! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martin Luther King Day \u2013<\/strong> Remember that we do not have school on Monday. We are spending some time this week discussing Martin Luther King, Jr. and the great contributions that he made to our country\u2019s progress in civil rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NATIONAL LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK<\/strong> is the week of January 21-26. This is a wonderful event that we can celebrate here at Hope. This year\u2019s theme is Connected<\/strong><\/em>.  \u201c<\/strong>I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.\u201d <\/strong> John 15:1-2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday Worship<\/strong> \u2013 Join us for church at Hope Lutheran Church at 8 am or 10:30 am services. K \u2013 2nd Grade will sing @ 8:00 am service and 3rd \u2013 6th  Grade will sing @ 10:30 am.  A Band will also play during the 10:30 service.
Join us for fellowship & coffee hour starting at 9:00 am.  The school is sponsoring treats in Concord Hall. We are still in need of additional help in providing treats. Please consider donating baked goods for Sunday’s coffee hour with our supporting church: Sign up to help with treats<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The all-school Spelling Bee<\/strong>\u00a0is on January 17th. We had a classroom Spelling Bee this week to see who our competitors would be. Oliver and Jayelle will be our 3rd-grade contestants with Owen as the alternate. The winner of the all-school Spelling Bee will move on to the Johnson County Spelling Bee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please make sure that your child is ready for any kind of weather. We will be going outside for recess whenever we can to get fresh air. Students are required to wear a coat or jacket when temps are below 50, so hoodies were OK in the afternoons this week. We also go out when the temps drop, and the air is cold! (We will not go outside when the temps. drop into the lower teens or wind chill is in the single digits. I don\u2019t want to be out then either!) We will, however, go out when it is freezing temperatures. Hats, gloves or mittens, and a warm coat is important \u2013 even when we are only outside for 15 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will not have a spelling list for next week due to the short week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
