{"id":4027,"date":"2024-08-13T21:01:14","date_gmt":"2024-08-14T02:01:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hopelutheran.org\/krzesinski\/?p=4027"},"modified":"2024-08-21T18:36:23","modified_gmt":"2024-08-21T23:36:23","slug":"memory-for-first-quarter-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hopelutheran.org\/krzesinski\/2024\/08\/13\/memory-for-first-quarter-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Memory for first quarter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Luther\u2019s Morning Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I thank You my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger.&nbsp; And I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You.&nbsp; For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things.&nbsp; Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me.&nbsp; Amen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 21<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hebrews 12:1-2&nbsp; &#8211; Therefore, since we are surrounded by so&nbsp;great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>August 28<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hebrews 12:3 &#8211; <strong> <\/strong>Consider him who endured from sinners\u00a0such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow\u00a0weary or fainthearted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The First Commandment and its meaning:<\/strong><br>You shall have no other gods.<br><em>What does this mean?<\/em><br>We should fear and love and trust&nbsp;in God above all things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 11<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Second Commandment<\/strong><br>You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.<br><strong><em>and<\/em><\/strong><br>Exodus 20:7 You shall not take the name of the Lord you God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 18<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meaning of the Second Commandment:<br>What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>September 25<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Third Commandment<\/strong><br>Remember the Sabbath Day by keeping it holy.<br>What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Fourth Commandment<\/strong><br>Honor your father and mother.<br>What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not despise or anger our parents or other authorities, but honor them, serve and obey them, love and cherish them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Fifth Commandment<\/strong><br>You shall not murder.<br>What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>October 16<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Sixth Commandment<\/strong><br>You shall not commit adultery.<br>What does this mean?
