Back-to-School Night<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 I was glad to share with many of you at Back-to-School Night on Monday night.  If you were unable to attend in person, the information that was shared is in a handout is being sent home in this week\u2019s Thursday envelope.  Please do not hesitate to ask any questions or to express any concerns with me throughout the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

School Scoop \u2013<\/em><\/strong> If you need to look back at information from our K-3 Scoops from earlier, you will find a link to them by clicking the “School Scoop” tab at the top of the page. The K-3 Scoop has additional information and reminders that pertain to all of our classrooms. Please be sure to read it. It is sent out to you through your email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parent\/Teacher Conferences<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Conferences are scheduled for Thursday afternoon and evening on September 19th and again on Friday the 20th. Field Trip <\/em>\u2013<\/strong> You will find a permission slip for our first field trip in your Thursday envelope this week. It needs to be returned to school after signing. Please indicate if you can help with transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Math<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 We are just finishing our first chapter on Number Sense. Next, we will be reviewing 2-digit addition and subtraction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chapel<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>This week we were able to get together in our new chapel families for the school year. Each chapel family has students from each grade K-8th. We sat together as Pastor Mueller led our chapel service. After chapel we had the opportunity to do a get-acquainted activity before students headed back to their own classrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAP Testing<\/em> \u2013 <\/strong>We took our first MAP test on Tuesday in math. We will take our reading section this Friday, and our language section next Friday. MAP tests help us track the strengths of our students and also see areas in which to focus to help them grow in their learning. These are not tests that they can study for, but you can help them to do their best by making sure that they are well-rested and have had a good breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spelling<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Since next week is a short week and we are busy with MAP testing, we will not have a new spelling list or test next week<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memory<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Remember there is a memory assignment every week. Students are expected to know the memory first thing Wednesday morning. Please work on the new memory assignment a little at a time starting on Friday through Tuesday evening. You can find the memory under the \u201cMemory\u201d tab for each week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
