Thank you all for your continued support of our school. We had a wonderful evening at the auction and your donations and contributions helped make it a successful night. We also had a great turnout for our Christmas boxes! Thank you so much for allowing your students to help give back to those in need and make a difference in the lives of other children in the world.

Weather Reminder

As we all know, the weather in Kansas is unpredictable! Here’s a quick reminder of cold weather rules for recess. Students need to wear a sweatshirt or jacket outside when the weather is between 40-50 degrees. They will need a winter coat on days that are 39 degrees or below. Students who do not have a jacket or coat will be asked to sit outside of the school office while the class is at recess.

Stony Point

As a reminder, we will be going to Stony Point next Friday, November 21st for a Friendsgiving. During this event, students will meet the students at the school who they will be shopping for next month.

Stony Point Fundraising
During the weekend of MBHC Basketball Tournament, we will be hosting a bake sale to support Stony Point Elementary School. All proceeds will go directly toward purchasing much-needed items for the children at Stony Point.

This has been a long-standing Hope tradition for our 7th and 8th graders. Each year, students shop for and deliver essential items to the children of Stony Point—an experience that helps them learn the value of service and giving.

Our goal this year is to raise $2,000 for 27 students,

Student and Parent Participation:

  • Each student is expected to donate baked goods and volunteer for at least two 30-minute shifts at the bake sale table.
  • Each shift should include two students and at least one parent supervising.
  • Please have all baked goods delivered to Hope by Thursday morning 12/4 so we can set up for the tournament.

Thank you for helping us continue this meaningful tradition of giving!

Third Article and Meaning p. 195

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

What does this mean?

I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers, enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian Church on earth, and keeps it with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian Church He daily and richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers in Christ. This is most certainly true.

The Close of the Commandments

What does God say about all these commandments? He says: “I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.” (Exodus 20:5–6)

What does this mean?

God threatens to punish all who break these commandments. Therefore, we should fear His wrath and not do anything against them. But He promises grace and every blessing to all who keep these commandments. Therefore, we should also love and trust in Him and gladly do what He commands.
