We hope everyone had a great Spring Break and are happy to be back to learning this week. We have lots of learning to do this fourth quarter! Please see below for important information.
Eligibility
Eligibility for track will resume next Tuesday, April 7th. Students must maintain a 75% in all their classes in order to be eligible.
KAP Testing
7th and 8th grade have started KAP testing this week. We will continue testing next week as well. Please make sure your student is prepared for testing by ensuring they are getting enough sleep and breakfast each morning. Testing starts at the beginning of the day, so please make sure students are here on time. Students should have their Chromebooks fully charged each day. Students who do not have a fully charged Chromebook will receive a silent lunch that day.
Lutheran High Olympic Day
We will be going to Lutheran High for Olympic Day on Friday, April 24th. Students received a permission slip in their Thursday folder. Please make sure that you sign and return those promptly so that we have accurate counts for those who need a pizza lunch that day. Gluten-free pizza is available for those who need it. Both 7th and 8th grade classes need drivers. Please contact us ASAP if you are able to drive.
Field Trips During 8th Grade DC Trip
During the week of the 8th Grade DC Trip, Mrs. Maurice will be taking the students at school on two field trips.
- Wednesday, April 15th: National World War 1 Museum tour and Money Museum Tour
- Friday, April 17th: Titanic exhibit at Union Station and Lunch TBD
We will need drivers for both field trips. For the Titanic exhibit, students will need money to eat lunch at a nearby restaurant TBD. Parking is approximately $15 at Union Station for drivers.

Jog-a-Thon
The Jog-a-Thon will be Tuesday, April 7th from 8:45-1:15. Students will have individual goals to earn prizes as well as class prizes. Permission slips will be sent home in Thursday folders. Please sign and return to your homeroom teacher. Lunch will be provided to students and volunteers and will include a hot dog, chips, fruit/vegetable. Your student is also welcome to bring lunch from home. On the day of the Jog-a-Thon, students should wear the color of their chapel family:
- K – Blue: Anna Beth, Jacob, Sophie C., Maci
- 1 – Red: Alex, Landon, Johana
- 2 – Green: Evan, Heather, Maria
- 3 – Yellow: Elle, Molly, Akilah, Johana

Holy Week and Easter
There will be no Chapel on April 1st. We will have Chapel on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd. There is no school on Good Friday or Easter Monday. All parents and families are invited to attend Easter services at Hope.
- Maundy Thursday – 4 pm and 7 pm services
- Good Friday – noon to 3:00 meditation; 7 pm service
- Easter Fair – pancake breakfast 9 am – 10 am; Egg hunt for K-3 at 10 am
- Easter Sunday – services at 8 am and 10:30 am; Breakfast from 9:00-10:30
Celebrate America Project
All students at Hope are participating in projects for the Celebrate America event. 7th and 8th grade students have received assignments in class. While we will have in-class work time, please make sure your student is working on this project at home as well. Please make sure students are checking their folders to stay on top of their due dates.
Middle School Dance
Lutheran High has extended an invitation to the middle school students to attend the middle school dance on April 25th, 6:30 pm- 9 pm. It is $5 per student at the door.

Summer Camps
Lutheran High is offering several camps for students in 7th-8th grade.
