All assignments will have clearly stated due dates and if they are not completed by this time, they are considered late.\u00a0 Late assignments will result in loss of points by 10% per day (up to 50%).\u00a0 If a student fails to turn in an assignment, an \u201cM\u201d will be recorded in RenWeb, and parents will receive a notification.\u00a0 Assignments recorded as an \u201cM\u201d are counted as zeroes. After 2 weeks of missing, the assignment will receive 0% in RenWeb. \u00a0 It is important for your child to complete his\/her work on time.\u00a0 Please refer to the Middle School Grading Scale found in the Middle School Policy Guide.<\/p>\n

Students will have the opportunity to make corrections to homework that receive less than 75% and will receive up to 85% for corrected answers.\u00a0 Tests will not be corrected.\u00a0 Graded papers will go home on Thursday, and corrections will be due the following Monday.<\/p>\n
Each redo assignment needs to be completed on a separate piece of paper and stapled to the original\u00a0 assignment.\u00a0 The first page should be the redo assignment with the heading of the assignment that was redone, along with the date and name of the student.\u00a0 Student’s will only need to complete\/redo the questions that were missed, not the whole assignment.<\/p>\n

Keep in mind that RenWeb treats assignments entered as missing as a zero, so they drastically hurt the student\u2019s overall grade.<\/p>\n Parents will be contacted by RenWeb when their child receives an \u201cM\u201d. Students will also receive a print out of any missing assignments listed from RenWeb on Thursdays, to go home in their envelopes.<\/p>\n If a student accrues multiple missing assignments from all their classes collectively, he\/she will be removed from specials and\/or may be asked to stay for mandatory study hall until the work is completed and turned in. The importance of students completing their assignments at Hope is a priority over other extracurricular activities, both athletic as well as non-athletic.
