Newsletter Jan. 25

January 24, 2024

We can officially say we won’t have a full normal week in the month of January. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this unpredictable weather.

Our school theme is “Connected” with our verse of “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.“–John 15:1-5.

Chapel offerings – Will go to Comfort Dogs Ministry. Please encourage your student to bring an offering.

Open House Nights

In Search Of – Connect 4 games for a National Lutheran Schools Week activity in January.  If you have one that our class could borrow, please send it to school.  We need 5 more games for the activity.  Thank you!

National Lutheran Schools Week – The last full week of January we will be celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week. Tomorrow is connect four color day (red and yellow). Devotions will be lead by STUCO at 8:40 in the morning in Concord Hall. Later in the day, the 7th graders will go to the first grade class and play connect four games.

If your child does not have a card, please consider getting them a card before we go. It is free, even if you don’t live in Johnson County, and you can sign up using this web link: https://ecard.jocolibrary.org/

Spring Play – Mrs. McIntosh will be our drama coach for our 7th/8th grade Spring Play. Auditions will be held on Monday, February 12th at 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm.  Rehearsals will be on Wednesdays from 5-6:30 pm and Thursdays from 6- 7:30 pm. The spring play is called The Pony Expresso. ASH WEDNESDAY CHAPEL – As part of this service on Wednesday, February 14th, the children may participate in the imposition of ashes.  If you do not want your child to participate, please let his/her teacher know.  The children do not have to participate if they do not wish to.  If you have any questions, please get in touch with the school office. Chapel service will be held in the sanctuary. Parents are welcome to attend.
