8th Grade Newsletter September 12

September 11, 2024

The 8th graders will have a busy 2 hours this Saturday. Please make sure your student is well rested and ready to be outside working/playing.

D.C. Fundraiser –

9/14 – During the carnival, the students will be fundraising for the D.C. trip by working different booths/concessions. Please make sure to sign up on the signup genius that was sent out.

Parent Teacher Conferences – Please make sure that you have signed up for a parent teacher conference spot on the Middle School Scoop, we are still waiting for 2 8th grade parents to sign up.

Fall Carnival – The 8th graders will be busy during the fall carnival. They will help sell tickets, work the D.C. fundraiser, sell honey that they have bottled, and work the 2 carnival games they chose. Please make sure your student brings in the materials they said they would bring in. If you are unable to bring in an item that your student said they would bring, please let me know so I can have someone else bring it in, or I can bring it in.

Room Parents – Please make sure you are contacting Mrs. Burns and or Mrs. Schmitz to see how you can help with our luck of the Irish themed auction basket.

Dress Code – There are a few changes this year, so please review the handbook so that your child comes dressed appropriately each day.

Eligibility – Make sure your student has at least a 75% so they can be eligible for extracurricular activities include all athletic, Spring Play, and non-athletic school sponsored clubs. Band, Chess Club, and Lego Club are excluded from eligibility requirements.

World History 4/17

The 6th graders this week have been reviewing Ancient China, getting ready for our test today. We are going to start our last 2 chapters when we get back from Easter Break. Our last Chapters will be Chapter 11 and 12, both of which deal with the Romans.
