IMPORTANT FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIPS
In the Thursday folders last week, there were two permission slips. One is for Olympic Day on April 24th and the other is for Harvesters for April 11th. Please sign and return this as soon as possible. Please make sure to sign the 2nd for attached to the Harvesters form.

Harvesters – April 11th
As we are having a Serve-A-Thon this year, the 7th and 8th graders will be serving at Harvesters. We are going to be serving in their warehouse from 8:30 – 10:30. Students are to arrive at 7:45 am to Hope Lutheran. We will return at about 11:00 am. Students must wear jeans, closed-toe shoes, and a Hope spirit shirt. It is highly recommended to bring a jacket or sweatshirt as it does get cold in the building. Girls must wear their hair up. Permission slips are due no later than April 7th.

Olympic Day – April 24th
6th – 8th grade has been invited to participate in Olympic Day at Lutheran High. We will leave at 8:30 am and return about 2:30 pm. Students are to wear their P.E. clothes, bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat if wanted. Lutheran High is also offering a hamburger lunch for students. The lunch is $3.00. If not, they must bring their own lunch. Permission slips are due no later than April 9th.

Serve-A-Thon
At Hope Lutheran School, we are called to serve others as the hands and feet of Christ. This year, we are excited to do our Serve-A-Thon, which is like our traditional Walk-A-Thon, as a way to actively live out our faith by reaching out and making a difference in the Johnson County community.

During the week of April 7th through the 11th, students will dedicate their time and energy to meaningful service projects throughout our city. From preschoolers serving on campus to older students working at various locations, each child will experience the joy of giving back. Through this, we hope they will see firsthand how their kindness and compassion can be a blessing to others.

As part of the Serve-A-Thon, students will raise funds to support Hope Lutheran School. Our goal is $32,000, which will go toward enhancing our school’s ever-evolving technology needs. Leading up to the event, students will collect pledges for the service project their class will complete. In addition, we will be giving LUMA 10% of our proceeds to support their mission.

MAKE-UP SNOW DAYS
We have THREE snow days built into our calendar this year. We will be making up one day on April 25th. There is a chance this could change. If the students raise $33,000 for Serve-A-Thon, we will no longer have to make this day up.
