Tuesday, October 24, some Hope alumni who attend Lutheran High came back to Hope to talk to the middle schoolers about Lutheran High and play some minute to win it games. Ask your student what their favorite part of the visit was.

Chapel offerings – Will go to Christmas Families. Please encourage your student to bring an offering.
Sports Uniforms – Don’t forget to have your student turn back in their sports uniforms. Please wash them first.
Dental Screenings – Tomorrow, Thursday, October 26, dental screenings will start around 1:00 p.m. Dr. Bohaty will screen K-8. Toothbrushes will be provided.
Chick-fil-a Night – Come support Hope and catch up with other families tomorrow, Thursday, October 26 from 4-9 pm at the Oak Park Mall Chick-fil-a.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31ST –
Students can wear fall colors or October t-shirts with uniform bottoms on Tuesday, October 31st, to celebrate Reformation Day. No Halloween t-shirts!
Vision Screenings – On Thursday, November 2, vision screenings will start around 12:00 p.m. The Lions Club will bring their vision machine. This screening will include Kindergarten through 3rd, 5th, 7th, and all NEW students to the school. If you do not want your child screened please contact Nurse Buckmaster directly at buckmaster@hopelutheran.org.

Auction – Our November 4th auction is coming up please contact the 7th grade room moms (Mrs. Schmitz and Mrs. Burns) to see what our basket still needs.
Chromebooks – Make sure your student is charging their laptops every night. Students are unable to charge their Chromebooks while at school, so it is important they are charging them while at home.
Religion – Make sure your student is bringing their Bibles and Luther’s Small Catechism to school.
Tests/Quizzes – Make sure your student is holding onto their tests and quizzes for each class, they are good study tools for the finals in December.
OUTDOOR RECESS POLICY –
Per our handbook policy on page 14, on most days, students will be expected to go outside for recess. If the following conditions exist, the students will not be taken out except to get a few minutes of fresh air:
- The temperature is 15 degrees F (-13 C) or below. The wind chill index is 0 (-18 C) or below.
- There is significant falling moisture.
- Teachers may take their classes out briefly for fresh air at their discretion.
- Students must have a jacket/coat to go outside to recess if the temperature is 50 degrees or below; hoodies are good for Middle School Students if it is 50 degrees or warmer.
