8th Grade Newsletter 3/13

March 12, 2025

We had a really fun week this week, it has been great hearing the students talking more positively. As we head into spring break, I hope everyone has fun, and uses this time to rest and prepare for the fast and furious 4th quarter.

D.C. Fundraiser –

Bates BBQ is doing a donation for the 2025 D.C. trip Friday, 3/14. Make sure to stop by and get some BBQ after Grandparents Day.

D.C. Trip –

Dear 8th Grade Parents,

We are excited to begin preparations for our upcoming Washington, D.C. trip! Due to travel arrangements and our partnership with another Lutheran school, the trip has been rescheduled to May 5th–8th. On Friday, May 9th, the students will have a day off.

A packet of important paperwork will be sent home in this week’s Thursday packet. Please review, complete, and return all necessary forms by Thursday, February 27th.

We will hold a parent meeting on Tuesday, April 15th, at 5:30 PM in the 7th-grade classroom to go over trip details and answer any questions. Miss Mondary and I will be the chaperones accompanying the students.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out. We look forward to a fantastic trip!

International Fair Costume – I have found a German costume on amazon that I believe will work. Students will need a white shirt to wear under the costume.

International Fair Room Moms – I will need your help for the International Fair. I will need help passing out food and stamping passports. If you could trade off every at 30 minutes and help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

Eligibility – Make sure your student has at least a 75% so they can be eligible for extracurricular activities include all athletic, Spring Play, and non-athletic school sponsored clubs. Band, Chess Club, and Lego Club are excluded from eligibility requirements.

1 Corinthains 15:3-6 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also
received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he
was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures,
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more
than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some
have fallen asleep.
