NORWAY: Our class has been learning a bit about Norway, and we started a research booklet to dive deep into the general picture of Norway. We will be working on this booklet to learn about their flag, major cities, animals, and so much more! It’s so exciting to be able to focus on a country and learn about a different part of the World that God created!
Bud, Not Buddy: We have started our first novel study this week! This novel takes place in Flint, Michigan and is about an orphan boy during the Great Depression. When there is assigned reading for the evening for this book, that can count toward the 20 minutes for the night.
Reading 20 minutes: Your child needs to be reading 20 minutes each night. You might be thinking “ehh, it’s not a big deal if we don’t do this… ” but if your child reads 20 minutes each night, then in one year they will read about 1,800,000 words. Compare this to a child who reads one minute a night who reads 8,000 words in a year. Reading for this amount of time and on a daily basis will set your child up for growth and success!
