This week’s chapel was led by the fourth graders. Next week is an exciting holiday that we get to celebrate as a Lutheran Church & School. Reformation Day is on October 31, which was an intentional date chosen by Martin Luther in 1517 when he posted his 95 theses on the church doors of the Catholic church in Germany. The 4th grade class gave us a wonderful storytelling skit to learn about the events that led up to the Reformation, as well as the effects of it. We can be so thankful for this holiday, because it reminds us that salvation is not something we earn by good works, but rather a free gift from God through Faith!
Report cards will come home this Thursday. Please discuss the report with your child and keep it for your records. Sign the envelope and return the empty envelope to the homeroom teacher.
Please add to your class’s auction basket. Check with your room moms for more information.
Grades 3-5 will sing at Hope’s 10:30 service this Sunday, October 27. Your child should meet Mrs. Schkade in the Luther Room at 10:15 to warm up. The children will sit with their parents during the service and will be called up front to sing when it’s time. Church services and performances are included in your child’s music grade. If your child cannot attend due to family or other church obligations, you must email Mrs. Schkade in advance so your child receives an excused absence.
Student Raffle – Parent’s Auction for Hope School Student’s Raffle: This year we are involving students in the auction. We will have a student raffle. Each student has 2 raffle tickets automatically. They can purchase additional raffle tickets for $1 each. Raffle ticket money can be turned in from October 25th through November 1st. This week of the auction, each class will come down and put their tickets in the box for the item they like. Thank, Mrs. Jankowski will draw for the winners. Here are the items in the raffle: art easel, Pokemon tin, gumball candy jar, light up frisbee, fairy finder, Buzz Lightyear truck, kids baking set (apron and such), hot cocoa bomb set, money tree, and Lululemon belt bag. As in any raffle, purchase of a ticket does not guarantee winning and chances of winning are related to the number of entries.
