Norway: We have been researching about Norway and giving it meaning to us. Each student is putting together their own research booklet, and we have so far looked at a map with major cities, and located Norway on a map of the world. We now know that Norway is in Europe, and the Capital is Oslo. We found the highest point, the longest river, the population, and the Prime Minister of Norway. We have been researching the history of the flag, Various food and meals, as well as Native Animals. We will soon explore some popular sports they enjoy, famous landmarks, and language they speak.
Math: For chapter 3, we are working on multiplication patterns, multiplication properties, and multiplying two numbers up to 3 digits.
Reading: We are currently read Bud, Not Buddy, which is a novel about a young orphan boy living in the Great Depression on a mission to find his dad.
Social Studies: We are finishing up an overview of United States History from the time of its discovery until present day. We have looked at map changes, the economy, the geography, and major historical events that has shaped our country.
A Year in Books: Our classroom has a bulletin board intended to track the books our class has been reading. Each evening, your child is to be reading for 20 minutes a day, which exponentially helps to improve their spelling and exposure to new vocabulary. When your child finishes their book, it is added to our visual bookshelf. Once the bookshelf is full, we will have a Game Day to celebrate our success! Please encourage your child to be doing their daily reading!
