Pastor Mueller led our chapel message teaching us the meaning of each verse in the advent hymn “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.” We learned that Jesus brings wisdom, he is our teacher, showing us the way to go. He came from the family tree of Jesse, and frees us from Satan. Jesus is the key to opening the gates of heaven and closing the path of death. He brings light to the shadows, and He is the cornerstone that unites all people. He is our savior, Emmanuel (God with us), in the flesh who will come again.

Grades 1-8 Christmas program – December 19 @ 6:30. All students should wear their “Christmas best.” This should not include jeans. Students must be in their classrooms at 6:15pm. There will be no basketball practice this evening. Please, feel free to join us in the commons at 5pm for a dinner served by the 8th graders beforehand (free will offering goes toward their trip).

Friday, Dec. 20: Students will be having an all-school sing a-long in the sanctuary, and enjoying their Christmas parties afterwards. Be ready for an early dismissal to kick-off our Christmas break!

End of 2nd Quarter: All assignments are due to each student’s teacher by December 20, as it is the last day of the second quarter. If assignments are missing, they will be entered as a 0 in the gradebook, affecting the report card grade.

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Please sign up for a time slot to meet with your child’s teacher on January 16 in the early afternoon and evening, or January 17 in the morning when you see their signup link.

Verse to remember: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel (which means God with us.)”
