9\/5\/24<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This week\u2019s chapel was led by Pastor Cook. He read from 1 Corinthians 1:17-25. Superheroes have lots of powers, but God’s creative power is way above any earthly superhero. God created everything and knows all things. He doesn’t need super speed or X-ray vision. His superpower is the power of forgiveness. Christ became a “fool” (human) so that God’s wisdom of salvation could be accomplished with his death on the cross. Now we also have the “superpower” of forgiveness. God gives this gift and expects us to use it for and with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pastor Cook helped us understand how LUMA (Lutheran Urban Mission Agency) exists to help those who live in the urban core of Kansas City. We can help poor people and immigrants get the resources and support they need by bringing chapel offerings. Mrs. J challenged each person in chapel with bringing at least a quarter to chapel each week. Our small offerings can be used in big ways by God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Verse to remember: “For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (I Corinthians 1:25)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
