Boaz was Ruth\u2019s kinsman redeemer, just as Jesus is our Redeemer. Boaz didn\u2019t have to pay as much to redeem Ruth as Jesus paid for us. As Luther wrote, \u201cHe purchased and won me from all sin, from death, and from the power of the devil, not with gold or silver, but with His holy precious blood and His innocent suffering and death\u2026\u201d Thanks be to God that Boaz took Ruth for his wife, because their son, Obed, would become King David\u2019s grandfather, a direct descendant of Jesus Christ!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
