Chapel- <\/strong>The seventh graders led a great chapel about Jesus\u2019s transfiguration. They helped us understand that a few of Jesus\u2019s disciples were there to witness that amazing event, and those same disciples were at Jesus\u2019s crucifixion and death. These events were \u201cawe\u201dful in many ways, and the disciples\u2019 faith was strengthened at each one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Verse to Remember<\/strong>: \u201cWhile he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, \u201cThis is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!\u201d (Matthew 17:5)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Valentine\u2019s Parties- <\/strong>Grade 5 is having their party on Thursday. Grades K-4 parties will be on Friday. Grades 6-8 do not have Valentine parties or card exchanges. All students in K-8 are invited to wear a Valentine\/heart- themed shirt on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Gratitude and Joy-<\/strong> During the month of February, every student and teacher in grades K-8 is daily recording things they are grateful for. We want to start each day on a positive note, giving thanks to God for all His blessings in each moment of our lives. This brings us JOY and honors our God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Choir performances<\/strong>– On Feb. 22, Grades 3-5 choir will sing at Hope\u2019s 10:30 service. On March 8, all K-8 students will be singing and\/or playing in band at Hope\u2019s church services to kick off National Lutheran Schools Week. It is very important that as many students as possible attend these performances<\/strong>, because we work hard in band and choir to make our voices and instruments blend and balance.<\/strong> If you have a family or church conflict that prevents your child from attending, please email Mrs. Schkade and your child\u2019s homeroom teacher. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Important Dates-<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 16 NO SCHOOL (President\u2019s Day)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 17 Step Up Day (Students spend 2 hours of the morning with next year\u2019s teacher to learn about the next grade level.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 19 Open House, 5:30-6:30 \u2013 All Hope families are encouraged to come and visit their child(ren)\u2019s classroom for next school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 22 Grades 3-5 choir will sing at Hope\u2019s 10:30 service<\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 25 Geography Bee , 2:00- parents of participants are invited to watch<\/p>\n\n\n\n Feb. 27 NO SCHOOL (teacher training)<\/p>\n\n\n\n March 8 All K-8 students will be singing and\/or playing in band at Hope\u2019s church services to kick off National Lutheran Schools Week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n March 8-13 National Lutheran Schools Week celebration<\/p>\n\n\n\n March 13 Grandparents Day<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Chapel- The seventh graders led a great chapel about Jesus\u2019s transfiguration.
