Jog-a-thon<\/strong> – As of Wednesday, our class had raised $50. Let’s add to that in a significant way! Please reach out to people who will support your child by supporting our school. Sixth graders should also wear their PE shorts, good running shoes, and a hat (optional). Bring sunscreen and a water bottle. Watch the weather– if it’s chilly, they might need hoodies. We will hold this event rain or shine, but we’d cancel if there is lightning in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating America event research and projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sixth graders are required to write a full two-page research pape<\/strong>r with title page, outline, and Works Cited page. They have begun researching an assigned state with printed materials and are taking notes on notecards. The minimum requirement for sources is two print and one internet source. Internet sources must be credible (.gov or .edu) with no AI used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each student is required to make a topographical (or relief) map <\/strong>of the state being researched. Students should Google the name of their state and the words \u201ctopographic map\u201d or \u201crelief map.\u201d They will find a colorful example to help them understand what theirs should look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
