First drafts of the research paper are underway. They are due at the end of the reading class period on Friday. The body of the paper must be two full pages, with text going onto the third page. Next week will be the editing week. If you or a relative in the area are proficient in basic editing skills and willing to help, please let me know. I would love to have community help so each sixth grader gets valuable one-on-one assistance. Final drafts are due Friday, April 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One sixth grader has completed the construction of his topographical map! I hope many more have plans to get that project going. Those are due April 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am so proud of how the sixth graders have worked together and created some awesome pieces for our class float and classroom decorations. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on at the Celebrating America event on April 30!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We finished reading Holes<\/em> and will be working on some thematic wrap-up work. There will be a test over the book late next week. Students are also reading the last few chapters of Where the Red Fern Grows<\/em> and completing their final journal entries.
