Dear Hope Lutheran School Families,
Happy summer! I pray that this email finds you enjoying the sunshine!
I would like to update you on our plans for the fall. We plan to open our school doors for the 2020-2021 school year on Thursday, August 20th. The first day of school for the morning Preschool – 8th grade students will be a half-day with classes being dismissed at 12:00 noon.
I know that many of you are wondering, what is it going to look like when school resumes in August? What the media and social media are sharing, is that true? To ease your concerns Hope Lutheran School’s Board of Education, the faculty, and I have plans in place for a “normal” school year, as well as contingency plans in the event there is a second round of COVID-19. We are working on a plan on how to make sure our students are safe while in the building.
We will have several new procedures that will be put into place to help ensure the health and safety of our students and staff. However, since guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Kansas State Department of Education are frequently updating, these procedures will be shared with you as we get closer to the beginning of the new school year. Our goal is to have things in place by July to share with our Hope families.
Let’s focus on Psalm 62:8 which tells us to “Trust in him at all times, oh people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” It’s easy to trust God when things are going well, but we must believe in Him in all times — good or bad. He will be there for us through it all.
One last thing, I have attached the SUMMER READING LIST. This year it is not required but strongly recommended and encouraged.
