General Information

This week was the third week of band class and it was very successful! Thank you parents for getting your students here on time and thank you students for your enthusiasm in class. Parents, please continue to encourage your students to practice at home during the week. This time is vital for their growth as a musician and helps us learn more in class. If you have students wanting to take private lessons, please reach out so I can hopefully connect you with people in the area. I would love to do so.

Advanced Band

This week focused on rhythm work and Let Freedom Ring. This is highly encouraged to be practiced at home. I also am starting our scale challenge with Bb Major. Students can submit a video by email of the full scale through the thirds to be added to the leaderboard. 3 hours overall for each week is a good goal with any of the music.

Beginning Band

This week focused on first starting sounds on our full instruments and learning how to put sound into the full thing. Students continue to practice the notes and exercises from class at home. We are on pg. 6 in their red books and have done the first 3 in class. They should not practice for more than 10 minutes at a time for now.
