This week’s chapel was led by Pastor Jacob. He reminded us that we will be celebrating Reformation Day on October 31st to commemorate the day that Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the castle church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther wrote 95 sentences about things the church was doing that did not follow Scripture. The selling of indulgences, pieces of paper to forgive sins, was not truth and was something made up by men. Pastor reminded us that Truth is found in Jesus and nowhere else. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Martin Luther searched the Word of God and found the truth of salvation in the name of Jesus. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; It is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8 – 9) May God help us to find our truth in the Bible alone. May we also let His Word dwell in us and overflow to those we meet.
