Thank you to those of you who were able to bring your children to sing last Sunday. Their song of praise was such a blessing to those who heard them! Thank you also to those who participated in Trunk-or-Treat. We had a great turnout and had lots of fun and fellowship!

The 3rd & 4th grade had a great day of learning at Science City! Thank you, again to Steven Schebler, Marshall Kidd, and Laura Solt for your willingness to drive and chaperone for the day!

Student Raffle– Students will be able to add raffle tickets for chances to win various items from the PAHS Auction committe. Each student will receive two raffle tickets for chances to win various items. Students will also be awarded extra tickets from teachers and staff as they are recognized for “going above and beyond” in their daily school activities!

Veteran’s Day -We are peparing an art project to display for the veterans on Veteran’s Day as well as practicing a choir number to share with them. We are excited to honor our veterans and thank them for their service!

Reading- We have been enjoying our reading of The Sign of the Beaver by Eliabeth George Speare – Please go over the Vocabulary words and meanings to help your child prepare to take a Reading Comprehesion / Vocabulary Test over chapter 13 – 18 on Monday, November 4th. We plan to finsh reading the book and take the Final Test on Friday, November 8th. Thank you! Our next novel will be Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. We will begin working on our new novel Vocabulary / Spelling List for our November 4th – 8th Spelling List.


Book-It Our November reading calendar is being sent home in your child’s Thursday Folder to help your child record minutes of reading outside of school. Be sure you and your child sign the completed calendar. I will need the October calendars by Friday, November 1st to add your child’s name to the printed coupons! Your child will receive a coupon for a Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut for meeting the 600-minute monthly goal! be coming home in the Thursday folder to be completed and returned by Friday, December 6th.

Spelling Bee – November 20th– The Hope Spelling Bee will be held on Wednesday, November 20th. Our 4th grade winners are Owen Pedersen, Nahom Abebe, and our alternate is Isaiah Gabriel. Good work, boys!

CHRISTMAS FAMILIES – We are once-again collecting food, household goods, clothing, and gift cards for those less fotunate during the Christmas season. The first collection day will be Tuesday, November 12th. Each 4th grader is asked to bring canned fruit: a jar of canned peaches, mandarin oranges, or pears.

Operation Christmas Child – shoeboxes are available to be picked up by the office. These boxes are to be filled and returned to the school to be sent out to children all around the world to share the love of Jesus with them in a very meaningful way! Please consider helping your child fill one of these boxes, which we will pray over and send out for Christmas. Boxes need to be returned by November 25th.

Prayer Cards for Emmanuel in Asheville, North Carolina will be created by each of the grades at Hope to be sent to students who have been and are still dealing with the affects the recent hurricanes, flooding, and power outages. We want to send messages of hope, support, and God’s love.

ASL- American Sign Language Club will began on Monday, October 28th! It will be held each Monday at 3:45 pm! It’s not too late to join!
