We had a wonderful time attending the Kansas City Symphony Orchestra and participating in the Link Up experience. Our 3rd & 4th graders were excited to play their recorders along with the orchestra and several other students from the area! We are looking forward to working on tying our blankets for the children at Children’s Mercy Hospital. Thank you so much to those who helped cut fabric so that it is ready for tying! We also plan on creating cards to send along with the blankets. From April 7-12, our Hope students will be the hands and feet of Jesus, serving local nonprofits while raising support for our school’s technology program. Please share your child’s special website with family and friends and allow them the opportunity to support our school and raise your child’s donation amount. Please refer to the website information that was sent out by email. This is more than a fundraiser—it’s a chance to make a lasting impact in our community! With every act of service, our students will be a light to others, and in the spirit of giving, 10% of all proceeds will be donated to one of the nonprofits we serve.Together, we can inspire generosity in our students, transform lives in our community, and strengthen our mission to be a beacon to others. Our 4th grade class is hoping to raise $2,750 to help purchase a laptop and dock. Students will receive individual prizes for the donations they receive. The class with the highest donation will also receive a Silly String fight with the principal. If our entire student body raises our goal of $33,000, we will have a Day Off of school on Friday, April 25th, which is our snow make-up day. Let’s make it happen!
4th Grade International Day Project- Diorama
The students are busy planning for their International Fair projects. Each 4th grader is creating a diorama of a special landmark or famous place in France. The information and rubric was sent home in each child’s binder this week. Projects are due on Friday, April 25th. (If we reach our school-wide goal of $33,000 for the Serve-a-thon, we will push the due date of the project to Monday, April 28th.) Parents will receive a copy of the project information through email to use for reference. Thank you, parents, for all you are doing to support our activities for this busy quarter!
Student of the Week- VIP / Classroom Visits
Thank you to Christine Truitt and Christine & Will Davidson for coming to share with the class and tell us more about Jayelle and Kaydence! We enjoyed photos, stories, snacks, and fun S.W.A.G. from our parents’ work places. It is so fun to see the parents’ and children’s faces light up with joy when they talk about their families! The entire class gains so much from this experience! Our 4th Quarter will go by quickly, and we want to be sure to honor each of our 4th graders and their VIP’s! Please use the Signup Genius link to set your appointment for your 4th grader’s VIP to come visit our classroom and honor your child as one of our Students of the Week! Please set aside one of the times offered and sign up to come into the classroom, share with the class about family, work, world travels, experiences, …and let us get to know you better!
