Newsletter For November 17th – 21st

November 12, 2025

We are grateful for all God is doing here at Hope! Thank you to all who gave so much of their own time, talents, and treasures to support our school auction. It was a huge success! We are so blessed to be supported by our church and school family! Your generosity helps us to serve God’s children and families. To God be the glory! We are beginning to learn songs and recitations for Christmas; it will be here before we know it! Please send a medium sized shoebox to school by December 1st to store a special project the 4th graders will be working on! Thank you!

Spelling Bee
We are looking forward the Hope Lutheran Spelling Bee this Wednesday, November 19th at 2:00 in the church. We will be cheering on our 4th grade class winners as they compete with the older grades. Our 4th grade winners are: 1st Place: Killian, 2nd Place: Hyunjung, and Alternate: Harper.

Please help support Stony Point – 8th Grade Service Project

Our 8th grade class is sponsoring special needs students at Stony Point North Elementary School. They will be purchasing supplies, clothing items, and Christmas gifts that are needed to support these children and show them the love of Jesus and His people. Please consider donating money to help purchase these items for these precious children! Any donations could be dropped off at the office. The deadline for these donations is December 5th. Thank you!

Homework / Spelling & Memory
Thank you for checking your child’s assignment book each night and looking in his/her binder to see that work is being done and turned in on time. Please continue to go over Spelling List words and Memory assignments to be sure your child is ready for the assessments. In January we will begin expecting Memory recitations each Tuesday and Thursday. Students who have learned to begin working on these two subjects before the new week will have the study skills needed for the 2nd Semester. Next week is our schoolwide Spelling Bee. We will have no new Spelling list to study and no Spelling tests next week. Our Memory for the weeks up to Christmas will be the songs and recitations for the Christmas program, which will be on Thursday, December 18th at 6:00 pm in the Family Life Center. Be sure to put it on your calendars!

Reading
This week we will be finishing the novel “My Side of the Mountain” and will be turning in our Final Projects, which are due on Wednesday, November 19th. There will be a Final Test on Friday, which will include Vocabulary words from each of the three lists the students have studied. Final Project information was emailed to parents last week. Please let me know if I can help in any way! Thank you for your help and support! We can’t wait to see what each class member presents!

Book-It
The Book-It calendar for November will need to be completed and signed by both the parent and student by Friday, December 5th. Please store it in a safe place at home or in your child’s binder. Please help keep track of the minutes of reading your child does each day of the month. Your child will need to complete 600 minutes of reading outside of school hours to receive the Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza. Please support your child in taking on this project and completing it. Thank you!
