Chapel: In our all-school chapel service this week Pastor focused on the hymn O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, which is based on the ancient Seven O Antiphons. Antiphons are a form of liturgy with a leader and a response by the people. We learned about names and qualities of God: Wisdom, Ruler, Root of Jesse, Key of David, Dayspring, King of the Nations, and Emmanuel. We honor and praise God for all He has done for His people and for who He is. We are so blessed to be called his children! O Come, O Come, Emmanuel!
Verse to remember: Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel.” (which means, God with us!)
3rd–8th Grade Christmas Program – has been postponed to Thursday, January 8th at 6:00 PM – due to illness throughout the grades. Come help us celebrate Jesus and the coming of the Magi during the season of Epiphany!
Caroling -The students had a wonderful time caroling this past week! Their voices always bring so much joy, and their message of God’s love is proclaimed boldly!
Party! – Classroom Christmas parties will take place on Friday, January 9th in the afternoon.
Parent and Teacher Conferences – These will be held January 15-16, with an early dismissal on the 15th and no school on the 16th. A sign-up genius will be coming soon. These mandatory conferences are an important part of open communication between parents and teachers. Parents are also encouraged to contact teachers throughout the school year with any questions or concerns about their children’s development.
