Reminders for Tonight’s Christmas Program and Panda Express
-Tonight is our Grade 3-8 Christmas program. Students are to wear black bottoms/skirts and a white top. Students are to be in their classrooms by 5:45. The program will begin at 6:00 sharp. Students need to return to the classroom after the program in order to return their red bows/ties.
-There will be no dinner before our program, however, the eighth grade will have a class fundraiser at Panda Express across the street from Hope from 4:00-8:00 pm. (See below.)
Classroom Christmas Party
Our 4th grade party will be held tomorrow, Friday, January 9th from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Parents are invited to join in the party. Thank you for sending in books for our classroom exchange! We will enjoy giving gifts just as the Wisemen did for the baby Jesus!

NEW: Be watching for a Life Team Art Contest: A 9 x 12 paper will be provided along with detailed directions for any student who may want to participate in Grades 4-6.Reminder: There will be no Study Hall after school next week due to the Parent-Teacher conferences which start on Monday for the upper grades.
Memory and Memorizing
We will be learning the Books of the Bible, Multiplication, States and Capitals, and much more as we begin our new semester. There will be a fair amount of memorizing in all areas of study. Please help your child to memorize the material as it is introduced and even work ahead, as you find time, so your child will be well-prepared and feel successful!
Spelling – We will not have a new Spelling List this week due to the short week with Parent/Teacher Conferences. We will have a new list the following week with the Pretest on Tuesday, January 20th because there will be no school on that Monday for M.L.K. Day.
Memory – We will continue to work on the Books of the Bible, which will be cummulative. The students will be responsible for knowing all of the previous books and the new assigned books in order. Please have your child recite them to you frequently so that the books can be recalled quickly. We are working on being Bible scholars and want to know our way around the 66 books easily!
