Thank you to those who attended Open House! We enjoyed visiting with families and checking out our next year’s classrooms. Thank you for allowing your child to sing this past Sunday with the 3rd – 5th grade choir. The kids’ voices are always such a joy to hear and add so much to the worship service! Thank you for working with your child on memorizing Memory Work, the Multiplication Tables, and now States & Capitals! 4th graders will be encouraged to wear our class color (shirt)- PURPLE, for one day during NLSW, Tuesday, March 10th, which is right around the corner! Please start thinking about it.
Redo/Corrections Policy reminder – Assignments that receive less than 75% are eligible for a redo. Assignments will go home each week in the Thursday envelope. Corrections must be turned in by the following week to receive any additional points. Quizzes and tests are not included as redo assignments. *Each redo assignment needs to be completed on a separate piece of paper and stapled to the original assignment. The first page should be the redo assignment, with the assignment heading, the date, and the student’s name. Students will only need to complete/redo the questions that were missed, not the whole assignment.
March 2nd is Dr. Suess’s birthday. On Monday, March 2nd, we will celebrate Read-Across-America Day and Dr. Seuss’s birthday! We will get comfy, snuggle down with a stuffy, and enjoy time just reading for the joy of it. Oh, the adventures we can go on with a good book! Kids can bring a book from home or use one from our classroom. They may also bring a stuffed animal from home to snuggle during our silent reading time.
TESTS on MONDAY, March 2nd- Social Studies Chapter Test (Review is in binder) and Memory Recitation- 3rd Article and 1/2 Meaning (Jpdated Memory sheet in Thursday Folder and Student Binder)

Memorizing States and Capitals
We are working on learning the Southeast States and Capitals. Look for a map worksheet to be coming home in the binders for studying.
Memorizing Multiplication Tables
Students are working at their own pace and not in competition with classmates. Each student will build an actual ice cream sundae to match the poster he/she has built by earning each piece after scoring 100%. Some students may be running out of time and may not be able to meet the deadline for the Ice Cream Challenge, which is Friday, March 6th. Even after the Ice Cream Challenge is complete, students will be required to continue the testing until each table has been mastered with a score of 100%. These math facts are essential to going on to 5th grade math instruction. Thank you for helping your child meet this challenge and feel successful and prepared!
Student Ushers – Thank you for your response for student greeters/ushers! Our first week’s group did a great job and got a very warm reception from the congregation. I am still including the link in case you need a reminder of your sign-ups. Lenten student usher sign-up
