Week at a Glance
We are learning to add three numbers in math using various models. Our religion focus this week is the judges who led Israel in the Old Testament. We are learning about short “i” sounds in reading and correcting punctuation and capitalization mistakes in language class. The theme for our spelling words is single-syllable words beginning with “sn-” and “st-“. First grade is learning how to describe sounds in science. Our current focus in social studies is on community helpers. We are practicing diagonal lines in handwriting.

All Pro Dad’s
Hope’s All Pro Dad’s group will be meeting at 7:15 am on Friday, October 6th. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time with your child and fellowship with other dads from the school. The meeting will consist of a breakfast and devotion. Please consider attending this event!
Lutheran Teacher Conference
There will be no school on Monday, October 9th and Tuesday, October 10th. The teachers are attending a conference in Wichita on these dates. School will resume on Wednesday, October 11th.
Early Dismissal
School will dismiss early on October 20th. First grade will dismiss at 11:20 am. Please plan accordingly.
Trunk or Treat
Hope will be hosting Trunk or Treat on October 27th from 5:30-7:00 pm. Please consider hosting a trunk. If you are interested in hosting a trunk please contact Miss Mondary at mondary@hopelutheran.org. You are invited to bring a friend or neighbor to this fun event!
Auction
The Parent’s Auction for Hope School (PAHS) will take place on November 4th. Each class is sponsoring a basket for the auction. The theme for the first grade basket is “KC Tailgate”. Our room mom has organized a signup listing the items we would like to include in our basket. Thank you to those who have already signed up!
