Newsletter – November 16th-November 29th

November 15, 2023

Dear Parents,

We are almost to Thanksgiving Break! Please read all of the upcoming events listed in this newsletter. There are many things happening at Hope during November and December! Please note that this newsletter will cover the following two weeks. This includes two weeks of memory and spelling assignments.

Week at a Glance

This week we memorized Psalm 46:1 which tells us that God is our source of strength. In religion we are learning about prophets and the people of Israel going into exile. We are practicing the letter “i” in handwriting this week. Our language lessons are about distinguishing syllables in words with double consonants. Our math lessons this week are about related addition and subtraction facts and fact families. We are working on sequence words and short “u” words during reading. In social studies we are studying tall tales and fables and identifying differences between the two genres. We are continuing our science unit on living and nonliving things by categorizing animals. This week’s spelling theme is words with “th” and “sh” sounds. We are preparing for our Christmas program during choir time.
