Week at a Glance
This week in religion we are continuing our study of Jesus’ miracles. For memory we learned 1 John 4:19 which tells of God’s love for us. In science we are learning about the sun and telescopes. For social studies we are learning about goods and services. In reading we are learning about paragraphs and the sounds “sh” and “th”. In math we are learning how hundreds’ charts help us understand tens and ones. For handwriting this week we are reviewing the letters “o”, “a”, and “d”. In music we are preparing songs for Grandparents’ Day and learning how breathing is important to singing.

Weather
Please continue to send your child to school with a jacket as the weather continues to change. First grade often has recess in the morning when it is still cool outside.
Geography Bee
Hope’s Geography Bee will take place on February 28th in the church sanctuary.
Grandparents’ Day

Science Fair
Please have your child work on their science fair experiment. A report on the materials and procedure they used for their experiment are due back to school on February 28th.
Mite Boxes
Don’t forget to be putting your coins in your Mite Boxes! We are encouraging all children at Hope Lutheran School to fill their MITE BOX and bring it back on February 28th for chapel.
