Week at a Glance
This week in handwriting we are practicing the letter “q”. In language we are writing sentences from prompts and sequencing words in ABC order. During religion class we are learning about Paul’s missionary journeys. For memory we learned the last twenty-five books of the Old Testament. In math we are learning about subtracting tens from two-digit numbers. During reading we are learning about the vowel sounds of “y”, syllables, and fables. Our science lessons are about data and how to record scientific information. In social studies we are learning about authority and laws in our community. During choir we are learning about rhythm patterns.

May 22 – Grades 1st – 8th grade Picnic Day
May 23 – Last Day of School (Early Dismissal at 10:45 am after chapel)
May 23 – Kindergarten Graduation @ 6:00 pm
May 24 – 8th Grade Graduation @ 7:00 pm
Field Day
Field day events will occur from 9 am-11 am. Students in K-3 grade are to wear Hope shirts and appropriate length shorts. This is the last day for school lunch.
Parents are welcome to come and cheer on students.
Picnic Day Field Trip
Students will wear their school uniform for the picnic day. Please make sure you have turned in your child’s permission slip so they may attend this field trip.
Students must bring a sack lunch with them for the picnic. No school lunch option will be offered for the picnic day.
Parents are welcome to walk with the class to the field trip. You must contact me beforehand if you plan to attend. All parents must have a background check with the school in order to attend.
Last Day of School
Hope’s last day of school is May 23rd. Students will be dismissed after chapel at approximately 10:45.
Breakfast and Lunch
The last school breakfast is on Thursday, May 16th. Breakfast will not be served during the last week of school. The last school lunch will be on Tuesday, May 21st for field day.
Spelling and Memory
No spelling or memory assignments this week.
